Information :
Audierne is a fishing port in the Finistere located at the mouth of the river “Le Goyen”.
In 1910, Henry Moret had already signed with the Durand-Ruel gallery. His paints of Brittany are sold well and amateurs appreciated the works of the Breton de Paris.
This painting with its vivid colors and intense light was purchased at the Durand-Ruel gallery in 1926. The composition is well balanced and the sky is very detailed.
It perfectly illustrates Henry Moret’s contribution to the Post-impressionist movement.
